Korina Sanchez reveals initially wanting a prenup before marrying Mar Roxas

MANILA — Korina Sanchez revealed she initially wanted a prenuptial agreement and even consulted a lawyer before marrying former Sen. Mar Roxas.

“Wala kaming prenup, pero noong ikakasal na kami, kumausap ako ng abogada. Sabi ko, gusto ko ng prenup,” she shared in a vlog interview with Maddox Jewelry founder Charo Cordial.

The TV host explained she wanted to maintain full control over her finances as she was paying for her nieces’ and nephews’ education. She also regularly rescued animals in need.

“Ayokong pakialaman niya yung konting kinikita ko, kasi mahilig ako tumulong sa tao,” she said.

“At hindi ko rin papakialaman ang pera niya, dahil hindi naman ‘yan ang habol ko sa kanya,” she added.

While the prenup did not push through, Sanchez said she is able to freely enjoy the fruits of her hard work and even spend around P1.1 million at the jewelry brand.

“I deserve it. Because I work very hard,” she said.
