NCAA: EAC cruises past San Sebastian for fourth win

MANILA — Emilio Aguinaldo College strolled to a 96-64 rout of San Sebastian in the NCAA Season 102 men’s basketball tournament, Tuesday at the San Juan Arena.

With the result, the Generals improved to 4-6, good for third place in Group B.

It was a wire-to-wire win for EAC, which surged to a 26-17 lead after the opening frame and never let up.

The Golden Stags, meanwhile, remained without a win in the tourney after 11 outings.

“Nag-isip lang kami sa plan ni coach (Jerson Cabiltes), dumepensa lang kami ng maayos at kailangan lang namin mabawasan ‘yong three points ng kalaban,” said MJ Raymundo.

“Nagawa naman namin ‘yon, dumepensa kami ng maayos at do’n lang kami pumuntos, sa depensa.”

The older Raymundo had his fingerprints all over the ball with 17 points, six rebounds and three assists. Joseph Nunag scored 16 while the duo of EJ Castillo and Jude Bagay tallied 13 and 10 markers, respectively.

Caesleyh Bacani finished with 22 points in Baste’s blowout loss. Arwin Alforque and Nurben Muktimar registered 10 markers a piece in the loss.
