Marian Rivera reveals Dingdong Dantes’ advice before her “GGV” appearance

It may have been their first time having a long conversation, but Vice Ganda and Marian Rivera, who recently appeared on “Gandang Gabi Vice,” made it look like they’ve been doing it for years. So, we, at ABS-CBN Studios also caught up with Marian before and after the show to find out what she was most excited about and what she expected from her first “GGV” guesting.

Before facing Vice’s hot seat, Marian was thrilled since she and Vice had crossed paths several times but never really had the chance to sit down and have a proper ‘chikahan.’ She was also looking forward to getting to know the Unkabogable Star better.

Marian didn’t set any expectations about her first “GGV” experience although she was sure that the two of them would have a great time together.

Of course, she isn’t the first member of the Dantes family to experience the fun of “GGV,” as her husband Dingdong Dantes had already appeared on the show in the past. She recalled watching him gamely take on Vice’s challenges. In that episode, Dingdong shared that the secret to Marian’s youthfulness is her sense of humor.

Well, it turns out that he’s quite the comedian himself, at least when he’s at home with his wife and their kids. According to Marian, Dingdong may seem serious on the outside, but he’s actually fond of cracking jokes and making his family laugh, even if some of his punchlines can be a little corny.

Asked if she got any tip from her husband before taking on the “GGV” hot seat, Marian shared that Dingdong’s only advice was to enjoy the moment. When she told him about her “GGV” guest appearance, he simply assured her that she was going to have a blast.

And judging by Marian’s reaction after the taping, Dingdong was absolutely right. Asked to describe her “GGV” experience in just one word, she went with “fun,” and she had nothing but lovely things to say about Vice, whom she praised for being such a generous conversationalist and, more importantly, someone who genuinely knows how to listen. For Marian, that’s one of the best things about being interviewed on a show because it makes the conversation feel more comfortable and meaningful.

Besides the fun, Marian’s favorite part of the interview was getting to talk about the different sides of herself that people don’t always get to hear about, especially her facets as a woman, a mother, and a wife. She appreciated how Vice gave her the opportunity to open up about these personal aspects of her life, since they aren’t always the focus of her interviews.

And because Vice spends so much time in front of the cameras making other people laugh, Marian has questions for her too. She would love to know what truly makes Vice happy, which is such a thoughtful thing to ask someone whose job is to bring happiness to everyone else.
