Ate Gay’s family seeks prayers, financial support amid comedian’s ICU confinement
The family of comedian Gil Morales, popularly known as Ate Gay, has appealed for financial assistance as the comedian remains confined in the intensive care unit (ICU) for nearly a week.
In a post on Ate Gay’s official Facebook page, the family reached out to the public for help with the comedian’s ongoing medical expenses, while expressing gratitude to those who have already extended their support.
“𝘼 𝙃𝙐𝙈𝘽𝙇𝙀 𝘼𝙋𝙋𝙀𝘼𝙇 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝙃𝙀𝙇𝙋 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝘽𝙀𝙇𝙊𝙑𝙀𝘿 𝘼𝙏𝙀 𝙂𝘼𝙔 🤍 Our beloved “𝙂𝙞𝙡 𝘼𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙨” known to many as 𝘼𝙩𝙚 𝙂𝙖𝙮, has been 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙙 in the 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩 (𝙄𝘾𝙐) at 𝘼𝙨𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙃𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 for almost a week,” the family wrote.
“During this difficult time, our family is humbly reaching out to your kind hearts for any financial assistance to help support his ongoing medical needs. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has already extended their kindness and generosity,” they added.
The family also emphasized that every contribution, regardless of the amount, would be a great help as they continue to hope for Ate Gay’s recovery.

They also expressed their appreciation for the continued prayers and support they have received during this difficult time.

Last year, Ate Gay publicly revealed her stage four cancer diagnosis, prompting an outpouring support from netizens and fellow celebrities.
Just weeks ago, Ate Gay also made a buzz online with her “Celebration of Life,” an event featuring a wake-like setup where loved ones delivered heartfelt eulogies and messages for the comedian while she was still alive.
Explaining the purpose behind the gathering, Ate Gay shared how important it was for people to express their love and appreciation for their loved ones while they still had the chance.
“Mas maganda yung habang buhay ka ay nalalaman mo yung mga nararamdaman ng mga minamahal mo sa buhay at dapat sinasabi iyan sa mga may sakit o kaya malalapit sa kanilang mga puso para namang lumakas lakas yung mahal nila sa buhay,” she said.
Ate Gay also became emotional upon realizing how many people she had helped throughout her life, as she listened to the messages from her loved ones.
“Mahalaga ito sa mga kagaya kong nakakaramdam ng ganito, yung mga cancer,” she said. “(Mula) sa puso nila, sinasabi na nila nararamdaman nila doon sa taong mahal nila.”
“Na-appreciate ko mga sinasabi nila kaya ako naiyak kanina kasi ang dami ko na palang natulungan na hindi ko alam. Ang dami. Kaya mahalaga yung mensahe nila habang nabubuhay pa yung isang tao. Mas lumalakas kami, mas gumagaling.”
Following the family’s appeal, netizens took to the comments section to offer their prayers and wish the comedian a speedy recovery.
