Walking with Genesis drops new single ‘Palimos ng Pag-ibig’
MANILA — Filipino alternative pop-rock band Walking with Genesis has released its latest single “Palimos ng Pag-ibig,” a decade since it was conceptualized.
The emotional anthem, released by Flamingo Music in cooperation with Curve Entertainment, is now streaming on all major platforms.
Written by the band’s lead vocalist Genesis, the song was drawn from her own life experiences.
“Palimos ng Pag-ibig” was written back in 2013 and is about a first love who never knew how she felt. Due to daily life events, the song was put on hold for over 10 years before it was finally released.
“Sa pagsulat ng kanta ko na lang nilalabas ‘yung feelings ko sa kanya noon,” shared Genesis.
“Palimos ng Pag-ibig” is a follow-up to the group’s 2025 comeback single “When See,” a love song Genesis wrote for her current partner.
Its music video, which was conceptualized by Franz, has also been uploaded online. Filmed at a high school in Guiguinto, Bulacan, it features special appearances by Boss Yang, Armando, and Asian Pakboi. “I think nagustuhan naman ng mga tao,” he said.
Walking with Genesis was formed in 2012 by a group of friends simply walking together to rehearsal.
The band’s name was taken from its members’ experiences, including lead vocalist Genesis, who due to lack of money would walk just to get to the studio.
“Nilalakad lang namin kahit malayo, at least masaya kaming makatugtog,” shared rhythm guitarist and vocalist Franz.
Despite changing lineups and unexpected challenges, the group stayed together.
“Ganun pa man, nag-e-enjoy kami sa music at bonding,” said Franz. Keyboardist Jano added that keeping an open mind and giving every performance their all has always been their guiding principle.
When it comes to their songs, lead guitarist Bhogz said: “If you listen to our songs, you’ll catch different emotions, from love and joy to pain and loneliness.”
For Genesis, everything is worth it as long as they stay united.
“Sulit na ang lahat kung patuloy kaming magkakasama, gumagawa ng music, at masaya sa ginagawa namin,” she said.
