Red Cross vows to continue pour in services in Panay Island
ILOILO CITY — Even with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) assured it will continue its services in Panay Island.
“We have always been strong in responding to COVID-19,” said Senator Richard “Dick” Gordon, who is also PRC’s Chairman and CEO.

“Through our local chapters, we expedited our services in responding to those who are affected with the pandemic and even local disasters. I salute all our staff and volunteers,” Gordon said.
Last January, the COVID-19 Molecular Laboratory opened at the PRC Regional Logistics and Disaster Management Training Center in Passi City, Iloilo province. Since its opening, it has tested almost 22,000 specimens for COVID-19 from across Panay Island.
PRC also backed local government units (LGUs) in the COVID-19 vaccination programs by deploying the Bakuna Buses in three provinces of Panay Island.
PRC has also administered COVID-19 vaccinations for 12,729 persons in Iloilo province; 6,247 persons in Capiz province; and 5,574 persons in Aklan province.
