Medicard launches new app for faster medical appointments, reimbursement tracking

MANILA — Medicard has launched a new app that allows its members to make doctor’s appointments and more easily track reimbursements.

In a statement, Medicard said its MedGO app allows users to search for Medicard clinics, doctors, and hospitals. They can then request letters of authorization (LOA) through the app and book appointments with their doctors. 

They can then seek reimbursements through the app by uploading their documents there. They can also track the status of their reimbursements through the app.

Online consultations are also available through MedGO, Medicard said.

Medicard chief executive officer Julian Mengual said the company wants to make it easier for its clients to seek medical treatment.

“Convenience can determine whether someone acts on a health need or puts it off,” Mengual said. “By bringing more of the healthcare journey into one connected experience, MedGo helps members take action sooner and manage their health with greater confidence,” he said.

The firm said its app has improved the process of getting letters of authorization for its members.

“For applicable automated LOA submissions, response times have been improved to under three seconds,” Medicard said.
