Vice Ganda, Ion Perez celebrate 8th anniversary in La Union

Vice Ganda, who was recently named Takilya King by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) at the 42nd Star Awards for Movies, celebrated his 8th anniversary with partner Ion Perez in a quiet setting in La Union.

This was also the primary reason why Vice was unable to personally accept the award from the reputable award-giving organization. If he had attended, he would have joined the list of A-list stars who graced the ceremony.

“Nag-relax lang kami. We celebrated with the family. No camera,” Vice said, recounting what happened in La Union away from the flashes and fans.

Last year, the Phenomenal Superstar and his life partner marked their seventh anniversary with a lakehouse getaway in Rizal, which was later uploaded to YouTube.

The anniversary vlog allowed the couple to share their experiences together, including their occasional disagreements.

“Hindi naman perpekto ‘yung relasyon namin. Bago pumutok ang umaga, pipilitin naming mag-usap. Hindi namin hahayaan ‘yung away. Bago matulog, mag-uusap na kami,” the Kapamilya superstar told his YouTube subscribers.

While Perez emphasized the importance of respect in maintaining long-term relationship, saying, “Kapag mag-isa lang ako, napapaisip din ako kung nagagawa ko ba talaga ang tama bilang partner niya. At naibibigay ko ba ‘yung tamang respeto. Ganoon dapat sa relationship — hindi mawawala ‘yung respeto. ‘Yung maganda ay ‘yung respeto sa isa’t isa.”

The power couple held a “commitment ceremony” in Las Vegas in 2021 to cement their relationship.
