JoshLia jet off to London for international screening tour of ‘Always Yours, Never Mine’

Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia departed for London on Thursday, October 29, for the international screening and meet-and-greet events for their latest film, “Always Yours, Never Mine.”

The overseas leg begins with a screening event in London on October 31, followed by another showcase in Madrid on November 1.

Sharing his excitement prior to departure, Garcia reflected on reconnecting with overseas Filipino moviegoers and revisiting the United Kingdom.

“Ako, excited ako ma-meet ‘yung mga kapamilya natin na sumuporta sa pelikula namin of course,” Joshua said. “And it’s my second time din na pupunta doon sa bansa na ‘yan. So, excited.”

The trip also marks a special milestone for the lead stars. As Garcia noted, “Tapos first time natin din together?”

Barretto agreed, confirming their shared enthusiasm for the trip, “Yeah… Together to go. So, we’re really looking forward.”

Beyond their official promotional duties, the duo plans to take time to explore London, with Barretto offering to act as tour guide.

“Sabi mo dadalhin mo ko dun sa… i-to-tour mo ko? I-to-tour niya ko sa London,” Garcia quipped.

“Yes. Ng mga one day… One whole day. May itinerary na kami,” she replied.

When asked about what they hope audiences experience while watching the film, which carries a poignant, heavier narrative focus, Barretto emphasized bringing comfort to overseas fans.

“Siyempre masaya gusto pa rin namin masaya kahit mabigat [yung movie],” she said. “Despite na medyo may pagkabigat ‘yung pelikula siyempre gusto namin masaya pa rin sila to feel like home, a reminder for home.”

The actor echoed her sentiment, focusing on ensuring a rewarding viewing experience for fans.

“We really just hope na magustuhan ng mga tao ‘yung pelikula namin and maging worth it for them of course ‘yung pinunta nila dun, di ba? Mapanood ‘yung pelikula,” he said.

Looking ahead to their downtime abroad, Garcia expressed curiosity about exploring new surroundings.

“Let’s see… Ang dami pwede gawin dun and siyempre marami kaming ma-di-discover dun na bago… I’m just excited na mangyari yun,” he added.

Before boarding, the stars extended their appreciation to supporters in the Philippines and invited international fans to catch the upcoming screenings.

“Sa lahat ng mga nanood at mga nakapanood na gusto lang namin magpasalamat, of course, maraming maraming salamat sa supporta niyo sa pelikula namin,” Garcia said. “And dun sa mga hindi pa nakapanood, showing pa rin siya, and then ngayon pupunta kami sa London so see you there… And Madrid.”
