MANILA — Passengers travelling through the Port of Lucena in Quezon province during the Undas holiday rush can expect a more comfortable journey, with the newly built passenger terminal offering improved facilities and free terminal fees.

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has suspended the collection of the Passenger Terminal Fee (PTF) until December 31, 2026.

The measure aims to ease travel expenses and improve the overall experience of passengers.

Free shuttle services are also available at the Port of Lucena and the Terminal Management Office (TMO) at Balanacan Port in Marinduque.

The new passenger terminal in Lucena can accommodate up to 1,000 passengers, providing travellers with a more comfortable waiting area before boarding their vessels.

It is also equipped with 144 solar panels that generate renewable energy for port operations.

Vessels operating from Lucena Port primarily serve routes to the island provinces of Marinduque and Romblon.

The PPA said its monitoring showed that operations at the port remained orderly, with no passenger congestion reported.
