Ruffa Gutierrez marks mom Annabelle Rama’s 74th birthday: ‘One of the strongest women we know’

Ruffa Gutierrez marked the 74th birthday of her mom, Annabelle Rama, with a tribute celebrating her as a well-known personality in Philippine showbiz and as the matriarch who has always stood by their family. 

On October 31, Ruffa shared a series of family photos on Instagram featuring Annabelle with her husband, Eddie Gutierrez, their children, and grandchildren. 

Along with the photos, uffa reflected on the different roles her mother has played in their lives.  

“Happy Birthday to the one and only Annabelle Rama! ❤️🎂👑 

To the world, you are the fierce and fearless @annabelleramaig. But to me, my siblings, and all your grandchildren, you will always be our beloved Mom and Lola. Our protector, our biggest cheerleader, our toughest critic, and one of the strongest women we know. ❤️,” she wrote. 

The actress also acknowledged that their family has experienced its share of ups and downs, but said her mother’s love has remained constant through the years. 

“We’ve had our share of laughter, tears, arguments, and unforgettable moments but through it all, one thing has never changed…your unconditional love for your family.” 

She went on to thank her mom for the values she passed on to her children, including strength, perseverance, and the importance of standing up for themselves and putting family first. 

“I pray that God blesses you with many more years of good health, happiness, peace, and beautiful memories with all of us. We still have so many adventures, celebrations, and family moments ahead, Mom! ❤️,” she added. 

Ruffa ended her birthday message by encouraging her mother to hold on to the fiery personality she is known for, saying: “Never lose that fire 🔥 that makes you uniquely YOU. We love you. ❤️Happy birthday, Mother Dear!!🎁🎉🎂” 

Annabelle also received birthday greetings from fellow celebrities, including Sunshine Cruz, Karla Estrada, Rabiya Mateo, and Ana Roces, among others. 

Earlier this month, Ruffa came to her mother’s defense after false reports about her circulated online. 

In a social media post, she called on content creators to be more responsible with the information they share, particularly when it involves another person’s reputation. 

“Spreading false stories and damaging someone’s reputation for the sake of views and engagement is never right. Walang katotohanan ang mga kumakalat na balita. MY MOM IS ALIVE & KICKING!!” she maintained.
