TRENTAHIN wants millennials to party before midnight

Handout

There was a time when a night out in Manila had a fairly predictable progression: dinner, drinks, the club, and somehow it was already 3 a.m.

For a generation that came of age in the 2000s and 2010s, staying out late was part of the experience. The later the night got, the better it seemed.

Now, TRENTAHIN is making a case for a different kind of night out.

Launched in June 2026, TRENTAHIN: HOME BY 12MN is a recurring first-Saturday nightlife property at The Fun Roof in Poblacion, Makati, built for millennials in their 30s and 40s. Its premise is straightforward: people can still love music, dancing, barkada energy, and going out, while wanting the night to fit the lives they have now.

“We created TRENTAHIN for a generation that still loves going out, but wants the night to fit the life we have now,” said Nikko Que, co-founder and CEO of The Nextperience Group.

Each edition features ‘90s and 2000s throwback hits, karaoke sing-alongs, early-rave energy, cocktails, and interactive rooftop experiences. The idea behind HOME BY 12MN is simple: start the night earlier, hit its peak sooner, and let those who want to keep going stay past midnight.

“The music, dancing, barkada energy, and excitement are all still things we love,” Que said. “But we realized that the traditional rhythm of nightlife doesn’t necessarily fit how many of us live today.”

Across its first five editions, TRENTAHIN recorded 4,689 guest visits, including 1,106 guests at its September edition and 1,023 at Grand TRENTAHIN 5 in October. The series has also generated more than five million documented social media views.

Lines can form as early as 6 p.m., well before the night reaches its peak.

The Fun Roof gives the party more to do beyond the dance floor. The Poblacion rooftop venue has skyline views, themed cabanas, cocktails, and interactive games, including crazy golf, batting cages, beer pong, arm wrestling, extreme basketball, curling, and shuffleboard.

Halloween, the TRENTAHIN way

On October 31, TRENTAHIN will hold its first Halloween edition at The Fun Roof, bringing its throwback nostalgia into Filipino childhood horror.

DJ Mars Miranda will headline the event. His career includes Manila nightlife venues such as Temple, Embassy, and Republiq, and he is known for his hip-hop and R&B sets.

The Halloween edition draws from Filipino horror references familiar to millennials who grew up in the 90s, including “Shake, Rattle & Roll” and the Halloween specials of “Magandang Gabi… Bayan.” The event will feature ‘90s horror-inspired costumes, nostalgic music, and shared experiences.

“For our first Halloween edition, we wanted to take the nostalgia even further — not just bring back the music and memories, but even the things that scared us growing up,” Que said.

The Halloween party is part of a wider TRENTAHIN calendar built around memories familiar to its audience. Upcoming editions include “Clash of the Bands” in November and “Childhood Soundtracks” in December.

Participatory experiences have long been part of The Nextperience Group’s approach.

The company, which Que co-founded, is behind The Dessert Museum, Inflatable Island, Bakebe, Gootopia, and The Fun Roof. As its original millennial audience has moved into their 30s and 40s, Que said their approach to leisure has changed, too.

“Almost a decade later, we’re still building experiences people can participate in rather than simply consume,” he said. “But something interesting has happened along the way: the generation we originally built for has grown, and so have the ways we want to enjoy ourselves.”

The party, it turns out, is not the part millennials have outgrown.
