A2O Lite: The Rise of K-pop’s New Visuals

Taking over the Inkigayo stage is a K-pop group composed of nine members: A2O lite. They’re giving us a breath of fresh air, rekindling our adoration for Korean music alongside their visuals that are innocent, youthful, and cool. They’re literally like the lyrics of their debut song, “Neon and beyond!”

Produced and structured by Lee Doo-man, a former SM Entertainment executive and the mastermind behind SNSD, Soo-man understood that a nine-member girl group has a unique charm: delivering outstanding performances with precise blocking. The headcount lets each girl shine on stage, highlighting individual visuals whenever someone takes center stage. Much like A2O Lite’s performances, where we immediately recognize the members’ distinct features and differences, their visuals pop and are easily recognizable, making it effortless for fans to find their bias!

A2O Lite has a distinctive concept from other K-pop groups, especially 5th-generation ones. While some groups debuted with 90s-inspired, long, silky black hair symbolizing youth, others opted for intense hair dyes; A2O Lite leaned into a mixture of both.
