KZ Tandingan shares promise to younger self as she prepares for solo concert

OPM singer-songwriter KZ Tandingan looked back on her journey while gearing up for her upcoming solo concert, Wildflower, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on February 7, 2027.

On social media, KZ joined a trend featuring a conversation between her younger self and her present-day self, reflecting on her career, travels, and love life while looking forward to another milestone in her journey as an artist.

“Did we do it? Did we become singer?” her younger self asked, to which KZ proudly replied, “Yes,we did!”

In the next slide, she also asked, “Did we get to travel around the world?” which she said, “We did! We got to sing in places we only used to dream of visiting!”

The conversation also touched on love, with the younger KZ asking if they had found someone who never thought their dreams were too big.

“Yes, we did. We found someone who loved us, believed in us and even traveled the world with us. We found a beautiful kind of love,” KZ said as she shared a candid photo of her and her husband, “Palagi” hitmaker TJ Monterde.

However, the most meaningful question came when her younger self asked if they had finally achieved their dream of holding a solo concert at the Araneta Coliseum.

“Not yet. But you know what? We’re about to! Our supporters sold out five sections of tickets in just a few hours,” KZ shared.

The singer was referring to the first day of ticket selling for Wildflower, which saw the Platinum, SVIP, VIP, Patron, and Lower Box sections sell out. Upper Box and General Admission tickets remained available at the time of her post.

Beyond celebrating the milestone, KZ took the opportunity to reflect on how far she has come and acknowledge the people who helped her along the way.

“You dreamed so big for us. You kept going, even when the world didn’t always make room for someone like us. You fought so hard to get us here. And look at us now. And we didn’t do it alone. So many beautiful people helped us along the way. They believed in us, stood by us, and reminded us to keep going,” KZ said.

KZ also made a promise to her younger self, reaffirming her commitment to pursuing her dreams and giving her best as an artist.

“So, I have a promise for you. I’m going to keep dreaming. I’m going to keep singing. I’m going to give everything I have. And when we finally stand on that Araneta stage, I hope you look at us and say… WE DID IT,” she expressed.

KZ first announced Wildflower last month, marking a major milestone more than a decade after winning the first season of The X Factor Philippines in 2012.

For the singer, the concert is more than just another career achievement. She previously revealed that she was dedicating the show to the younger version of herself who dared to dream of becoming a singer despite the possibility of rejection.

“Bakit ko ba ’to gagawin? I’m doing it for this kid right here. The little girl who was crazy enough to audition, knowing she could be rejected. AGAIN,” she said.

Looking back on the setbacks she had faced, KZ also recognized the determination that helped her continue pursuing her goals, saying: “She didn’t know how many times she’d have to fall, how many times she’d have to start over. Pero kahit ilang beses siyang madapa, SHE KEPT GOING.”

“This one’s for you, Dai KZ. Look how far we’ve come. Matutupad mo na ang pangarap na as a solo headliner masigaw ang, ‘ARANETAAAAAAA!!!”

Earlier this year, KZ also took her music on the road with TJ for their joint concert tour, In Between, that recently concluded in Dubai.

Meanwhile, TJ shared an emotional video of KZ crying after finding out that most of her concert tickets are already sold out.

“She was really really anxious leading up to ticket selling, she honestly felt like wala na masyadong interesado since nag world tour na kami the last 2 years — but she’s giving it one more try, for little KZ. One night only. Her first-ever Araneta concert! im so proud of you baba, @KZ you deserve the world, and the world deserves you ❤️,” TJ said.
