‘The Remarried Empress’ to be released on November 3 exclusively on Disney+ Philippines

Korean stars Shin Min-ah, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk, and Lee Se-young, surprised fans with an early release announcement for their upcoming series The Remarried Empress, revealing that its first four episodes will be available exclusively on Disney+ Philippines beginning November 3.

The announcement was made during a press conference, where the lead stars shared the news as a special treat for viewers who have been looking forward to the series. Originally set to premiere on November 4, the show will now arrive a day earlier.

The early premiere comes amid growing anticipation for the adaptation. The series recently held preview screenings at the Busan International Film Festival, which sold out, while its payoff trailer garnered more than 13 million views across YouTube and social media platforms within its first 48 hours.

Filipino fans will also get a local touch to the series through a Philippine trailer set to premiere on Disney+ Philippines’ social media platforms at 7 p.m. on November 3.

The trailer features the OPM classic “’Til I Met You,” whose message about discovering love and finding someone special complements the central romance of the series.

Based on the popular NAVER WEBTOON title that has accumulated nearly three billion views, The Remarried Empress centers on Empress Navier, whose seemingly stable marriage to Emperor Sovieshu of the Eastern Empire begins to fall apart when he falls for Rashta, a runaway slave.

As Emperor Sovieshu pursues his new love and seeks to change the course of their marriage, Empress Navier refuses to surrender her position and dignity without a fight. She agrees to her husband’s request for a divorce on one condition: that she be allowed to marry Crown Prince Heinrey of the rival Western Kingdom.

What follows is a complicated story of love, betrayal, ambition, and the struggle for power, as Empress Navier sets out to take control of her own future while the fate of two empires hangs in the balance.

Min-ah stars as Empress Navier, with Ji-hoon portraying Emperor Sovieshu. Jong-suk takes on the role of Crown Prince Heinrey, while Se-young plays Rashta.

The series is adapted for television by Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choongyeol, and is directed by Cho Suwon.

Following the release of its first four episodes on November 3, The Remarried Empress will continue with two new episodes every Wednesday beginning November 11. Its series finale is scheduled for November 25.

All episodes will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
