Andi Eigenmann expressed her excitement over Siargao’s inclusion in the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour, highlighting what the milestone means for the island’s surfing community.

On her Instagram page, Andi shared a clip from her interview with WSL, where she spoke about Happy Islanders Surf Club and its efforts to support aspiring surfers.

During her interview with WSL, Andi also reflected on the growth of surfing in the Philippines, expressing hope that the event would inspire more young Filipino surfers to pursue their dreams.

“Actually, I am not sure if it’s something that everybody knows but surfing here in the Philippines is still quite young, I would say. But this one definitely is a milestone for all of us and I can see so many other kids and so many surfers from the younger and next generation just being so inspired by this whole event,” she stated.

Andi hopes the milestone will encourage aspiring Filipino surfers to continue honing their skills and eventually make their mark on the international stage.

“I hope that this gives them the courage and the motivation to keep going and to keep pushing. And maybe soon enough, we will be frequently seen on the world stage,” she said.
