Liza Diño on Ice Seguerra’s unique style of singing: ‘He brings his own soul to a song’
Having literally grown up in front of the camera from child actor to singer to director, Ice Seguerra has shown the world just how much natural talent he has for the arts. When it comes to music, he has long been associated with a voice, a guitar, and the ability to make a room listen.
The 43-year-old OPM artist continues to connect with his audience through his digital performance show Ice Sings! His wife and concert creative director Liza Diño shared what makes Ice a performer worth watching.
“What defines Ice if you take away the genre? For me, he’s a storyteller. He can sing a song people have heard a hundred times and somehow make them feel like it’s being told to them personally. That voice-and-guitar intimacy became his signature. But it was never the full extent of what he could do. We wanted to give him space to explore everything else that lives in him as a performer,” Liza shared.
Having built up an already impressive catalogue of work as a singer and songwriter, Liza explained why Ice does not want to box himself in to just one genre. This month, Ice will be performing beloved Disney and Broadway hits to the stage for Ice Sings! An Intimate Concert Series — Part I: Broadway & Disney.
“Ice told me, ‘I just want to sing whatever I want to sing. The digital show gave him that space. It also lets people hear another side of him—playful, curious, and willing to follow a song wherever it takes him.”
“What listeners are hearing. The repertoire will change, but that’s precisely the point. The genre doesn’t tell Ice who to be. He brings his own soul to a song, whether he’s interpreting one he grew up with or creating an original song today. When Ice sings, you can feel comforted. You can feel transported. Sometimes you find yourself singing along; sometimes you just sit there and let the song hold you. That connection is the common thread. Whatever the genre, you know it’s Ice,” she said.
ICE SINGS! An Intimate Concert Series: Musical Hits is happening on November 6 and 7, 2026, at 8 p.m. at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan. Orchestra ticket holders will receive a signed poster and a soundcheck experience, while those with VIP tickets will get merchandise, a meet-and-greet opportunity, and a soundcheck experience.
