MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. underscored the importance of creative spaces in providing opportunities to young Filipino talents as he led the opening of a new theater in the metro.

Marcos, together with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, graced the launching of the Likhang Filipino Theater — a new 279-seat performance venue within the Likhang Filipino Creative Lab in Pasay City.

The First Couple was joined by former First Lady Imelda Marcos.

The theater provides emerging and established Filipino artists a “platform to present their work, build audiences and collaborate without the scale and production demands of a grand theatre,” the Presidential Communications Office said.

It added that the President underscored the “importance of giving Filipino creatives the space and opportunities to develop their ideas, emphasizing that every young Filipino’s talent matters and deserves a chance.”
