Suspected drug user nabbed after mauling 62-year-old mother

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – Police arrested a suspected drug user after he allegedly mauled his 62-year-old mother in Tayabas City Saturday, police said.
A report from the Quezon police said Kerr Angelous Ramallosa, 27, was nabbed inside their house in Barangay (village) San Isidro Zone 2 after his sister reported the mauling incident to the police station at around 5 p.m.
Police said that when the arresting officers arrived at the house, they found the suspect still beating and cursing his mother. The victim sustained injuries to the head and body, police said.
During the routine body search, authorities discovered two plastic sachets of shabu (crystal meth) weighing less than one gram from the suspect.
Police said the suspect would hurt his mother whenever he was under the influence of illegal drugs. /muf
