PNP-ACG warns public vs buying illegally pre-registered SIM cards


MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) cautioned the public against buying illegally pre-registered subscriber identity module (SIM) cards, after the unit seized nearly 2,300 SIM cards in one week. “We urge everyone to avoid purchasing pre-registered SIM cards and to ensure proper registration of their SIMs,” PNP ACG Director Brig. NCRPO to deploy over 4,900 cops for Chinese New Year festivities


MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be deploying 4,904 personnel for the metro’s celebration of the 2025 Chinese New Year. In a statement on Tuesday evening, the NCRPO said the deployment includes 733 officers to secure celebration venues, 531 to manage traffic flow and 488 to monitor at checkpoints.
