BPI wins 8 awards for excellence in Southeast Asia

MANILA – Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) won eight accolades at the 2026 Alpha Southeast Asia Awards, recognizing its performance across small and medium enterprise (SME) financing, investment banking, foreign exchange, and wealth management, the lender announced Monday.

The Alpha Southeast Asia Awards is one of the region’s prestigious financial award-giving bodies.

BPI’s Business Banking arm was named Best SME Bank in the Philippines for the 13th time after achieving an 80 percent surge in total outstanding SME loans.

“We are truly grateful to our SMEs that have trusted BPI as their partner in growing their businesses that, in the process, build our nation,” said Dominique Ocliasa, Business Banking Head at BPI.

Investment banking unit BPI Capital was named Best Equity House after completing nine deals worth $418 million in 2025, including serving as Joint Global Coordinator for Maynilad Water Services’ landmark P34.3 billion initial public offering.

“Completing all these fundraising efforts, especially the Maynilad IPO, are feats in themselves,” said Lester Ong, President at BPI Capital.

BPI’s Global Markets division picked up two awards, including Best FX Bank for Money Market Products, while BPI Wealth took four titles, led by Best Overall Asset & Fund Manager—its 10th win in 11 years.

BPI President and CEO TG Limcaoco said he was thankful for the accolades that mark the bank’s 175th anniversary.

“I am very grateful for the recognition of the Bank’s efforts to level up our array of products and services to better serve our customers, which indeed reflects our goal to champion banking excellence anchored on trust and the best digital offers.”
