Women activists say Mocha can join June 12 march vs misogyny

Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson is welcome to join the march that will tackle the alleged misogynistic remarks of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Zena Bernardo, co-convenor of the  Babae Ako Movement said Uson was welcome to attend the protest march to be staged on Independence Day.

“Welcome na welcome po siya doon,” Bernardo said during a forum on Saturday.

The march is set to start at Kilometer Zero at the Rizal Park at 3:30 p.m. before heading towards Liwasang Bonifacio for the program proper.

Various women advocates and legal forces are expected to join the protest march, Bernardo said.

Uson, who is a known supporter of the administration, earlier uploaded on her Facebook page a video of the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. being kissed by a woman inside a plane.

She compared the controversial kiss of Duterte to a married Filipina overseas Filipino worker in South Korea to the kiss on the late former senator.

Despite drawing flak and criticisms, Uson remained unapologetic even after Kris Aquino, one of the daughters of the late senator, responded to her post.    /muf
