Former Comelec staff shot dead in Batangas
A FORMER Commission on Elections (Comelec) employee was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Monday in Batangas, according a police report.
The victim, Noel Meralles, was killed at 6:10 p.m. while waiting for a ride home in front of a supermarket in Bauan.
The suspects then boarded a black motorcycle then fled towards the direction of San Pascual.
Meralles was brought to the 0Bauan General Hospital for treatment but was later pronounced dead by the attending physician.
Investigation of the incident is ongoing. ROY NARRA
