Militant solons blast dismantling of factory picket

The House of Representatives’ progressive Makabayan party-list bloc had condemned the violent dispersal of protesting workers of condiment giant NutriAsia Inc. in Marilao, Bulacan province, on Thursday.

In a statement, the group said it would seek an inquiry into “this blatant use of force against workers who are only exercising their rights.”

“The workers are only asking to become regular employees of NutriAsia after working in the factory for as long as 15 years,” the bloc said in a statement. —VINCE F. NONATO
