Canadian slain, wife wounded in Batangas

A Canadian was killed while his Filipino wife was wounded when they were shot by two men in Batangas City on Sunday night, police said on Monday. Reports said Barry Gamon, 56, a Canadian retiree, and his wife, Luzviminda, were outside their garage at Barangay Tinga Itaas when the gunmen attacked them at 8 p.m. Gamon had been living in the Philippines for more than 10 years, police said. Supt. Sancho Celedio, city police chief, said the couple never had any record with the police, except for a recent dispute over a parking space across their house. —MARICAR CINCO
