6 men nabbed for transporting illegally cut logs in Isabela

JONES, Isabela — Six men were arrested on Monday after a ten-wheeler truck and an Elf truck loaded with illegally sawn flitches were intercepted at the foothills of this town, police said.

Richard Padua, Nelmar Cacuyung, and Love Bryan Pascua, all of Santiago City, were in the 10-wheeler truck that was allegedly sneaking out 447 pieces of Gmelina flitches (estimated to be 900 board feet), said Chief Inspector Rex Pascua, Jones police chief.

The items were registered under Teresita Balungay of Diego Silang village in Diffun town, Quirino province.

The Elf truck carrying John Dalloran, Alex Coloma and Allan Dalloran, all of Palacian village in San Agustin town, Isabela province, was supposedly transporting 149-pieces of flitches (totaling 1,913-bd. ft.).

The trucks were impounded as illegally logging charges were being prepared against the six suspects. /cbb
