Soldier nabbed for blackmailing two ex-girlfriends with sex videos

CITY OF ILAGAN — A soldier was arrested at a private mall here on Friday (June 29) for attempting to coerce two ex-girlfriends into separate sexual encounters by threatening to post their nude photographs and sex videos online.

Private First Class Rene Cantomayor, 30, a North Cotabato native assigned to the 5th Infantry Division in Gamu town in Isabela, had issued the threats, unaware the women knew each other, said Insp. Orlan Capili, chief investigator of the Ilagan police.

The two women immediately complained to the police.

One of the women claimed Cantomayor also threatened to harm her if she did not agree to sleep with him again.

The second woman said she recently broke up with Cantomayor, who demanded a last night with him before he was reassigned to Mindanao.

Cantomayor faces charges of grave coercion, and for violating the laws on violence against women.

The soldier may also be charged for cybercrime because his mobile telephone contained provocative images of his two victims.
