Bacolod City wins 1st runner-up

Bacolod City received the Business Friendly Award for its efficient services that make securing businesses permits easy and almost stress-free.

Bacolod City has implemented programs for streamlining processing and renewal of business permits from five to three steps; business development through MSME assistance; investment promotions and business matching; and automated business clearance, among others.

With internal systems that promote the ease of doing business and accountability in place, business owners can expect services that are free from red tape, and one that promotes transparency and accountability.

Last year, The Manila Times named Bacolod City 2017 Model City of the Year. Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia said he is grateful about how The Manila Times changed Bacolod City: “Since we won in 2017 as The Model City, everything has changed in Bacolod City. We try to live up to the prestigious award that The Manila Times bestowed upon us and I think we succeeded in attracting lots of investors in the process,” Leonardia said in an interview.

As Bacolod garnered the first runner-up Award in this year’s Top Model City tilt, Leonardia is equally thankful and promised to continue improving and developing the city as one of the top most livable urban cities in the country.
