LOOK: Sona outfits of Nancy Binay, Imee Marcos match carpets

Aside from the President’s speech, ‘Sona fashion’ or how lawmakers’ and guests dress up during the State of the Nation Address (Sona), is the one thing that netizens are more curious about.

On Monday, lawmakers and other personalities again came in their best business attires and national costumes for this year’s Sona.

Two of them, however, seem to get more attention, not because of their gowns’ design, but because the gowns matched the color of the carpets at Batasang Pambansa.

“Kakulay ng carpet (The color matches the carpet)!” Senator Nancy Binay joked about her light blue gown. “Naha-highlight ako [sa] carpet,” she said while posing for a picture.

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos’ bloody red gown, meanwhile, matched the red carpet at the entrance of the hall.

It is not the first time that some attires in Sona caught the eye of netizens, with some even becoming the subject of memes in social media in previous years. /ee
