Mocha Uson tapped to help in info drive on federalism

Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson has been tapped by President Rodrigo Duterte’s Charter change committee to help in the information drive about a proposal for a shift to a federal system of government.

Consultative Committee (Con-com) spokesman Ding Generoso said on Monday that Uson would participate in disseminating information about federalism.

Generoso said that Uson’s participation in the committee’s communications campaign would help increase awareness of federalism among Filipinos.

“She can write about it… and blog, which has a wide reach. That would help increase awareness,” Generoso told reporters in a text message.

For his part, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque in a press briefing on Monday said that “anyone is welcome to disseminate” information about federalism.

“Of course, we seek to come up with standardized dissemination materials so that no one will deviate from the messaging. So we’re developing materials for disseminators, and we are formulating a module to train first the trainors,” Roque said.

“We’re developing a module for dissemination so that anyone who will follow the module can disseminate properly,” he also said.

Uson has a Facebook page with more than five million followers.
