Thief takes P228,000 from LBC branch in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – An unidentified thief stole more than P200,000 from a national courier LBC branch in Tiaong town in Quezon province on Saturday, police said.

The theft was reported to the police around 10 a.m. after a customer discovered earlier that the lock of LBC branch in Barangay (village) Poblacion 1 was destroyed, according to Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police chief, in a spot report.

The police said the LBC vault lost about P228,975.

The initial investigation report pointed at the possibility that the burglary was an “inside job.” DELFIN T. MALLARI JR.
