Automated health screening system for police launched to stop corruption in recruitment

AN automated health screening system for applicants of the Philippine National Police (PNP) was launched on Tuesday at Camp Bagong Diwa as a way to eliminate corruption in the recruitment process.

The Ronmedds (Robust, Neuro-Psychiatric, Medical and Dental Screening for Police Applicants) stores medical records of applicants in a data storage system and that the only access to these records is a barcode issued to the applicant, which reduces the possibility of tampering.

PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde also said that this would prevent applicants from relying on and paying their backers to pass the screening process.

Albayalde said the implementation of Ronmedds was part of the PNP’s internal cleansing program and eliminating corruption within their agency.

“This is part of our preventives from the roots in order to eliminate corruption,” Albayalde said.

Albayalde said this system would be implemented nationwide. ROY NARRA
