Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange is 96% complete — DOTr

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced on Monday that the construction of the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), which is expected to decongest EDSA as it can keep around 1,000 provincial buses off the road, is nearly complete.

In a Facebook post, the DOTr said the country’s first intermodal transport terminal is already 96% done with only the online ticketing and booking system and RFID tagging of buses left unfinished.

“GOOD NEWS: The construction of the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) is now 96% COMPLETE!” the DOTr said.

The department added that the project aims to provide “seamless interconnectivity of the different modes of transportation from the neighboring provinces south of Metro Manila to ensure a safe, convenient, and hassle-free travel experience for the commuting public.”

The DOTr earlier said that the PITX can also accommodate 200,000 passengers per day.

Passenger terminal buildings, arrival and departure bays, public information systems, ticketing and baggage handling facilities, and park-ride facilities were also integrated in the terminal. /ee
