PSL to defend title in Singapore meet

The Philippine Swimming League (PSL) will be defending its crown in the 2018 Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) Invitational Swimming Championship at the SICC swimming pool in Singapore.

A total of 74 tankers will be vying for gold medals in the two-day meet with reigning Swimmers of the Year Marc Bryan Dula of Northern Samar (boys’ 11-year) and Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh of Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Paranaque (girls’ 12-year) leading the charge as they aim to break records in their respective events.

“We are expecting Marc Bryan and Micaela Jasmine to break records in their respective events. We are always positive and we’re very optimistic that we’ll be able to defend our title in the tournament,” said PSL president Susan Papa.

Also seeing action are veteran international campaigners Aishel Cid Evangelista (boys’ 8-year) of West Manila Christian School and Albert Sermonia II (boys’ 13-year) of Diliman Preparatory School as well as Filipino-British Hannah White (girls’ 7-under), Heather White (girls’ 11-year) and Ruben White (boys’ 14-year).

Joining them in the team are Kiara Acierto, Lhaarny Agnas, Andrea Andam, Julia Ysabelle Basa, Portia Jean Belo, Alexandra Nicole Bonite, Ixidorre Cajucom, Mariz Capalar, Sofia Ching, Minuet Derina, Coleen Dizon, Eim Espina, Vela Filart, Jemyma Flores, Nicole Angela Galeon, Veniz Jaring, Alura Javier, Carmelli Jose, Sophia Jose, Hannah Kainak, Elouise Manlego, Arriane Minao, Jazmine Mirasol, Maika Montecillo, Marionni Montecillo, Kayleigh Pablic, Cherry Peralta, Joan Perlas, Emery Quicio, Angela Ragasa, Akeila Saavedra, Hanna Sales, Riza Tabamo, Richaile Telebangco, Allahna Tolentino and Ashley Yu in girls’ division.

Competing in the boys’ class are Gio Ablan, Sean Agustin, Charles Aquilo, Joaquin Aquino, JC Calderon, Heherson Chin, RC Curray, Leano Dalman, Leodd Dalman, Leonardo Dalman, Albren Dayapdapan, CJ De Emoy, Marc Geosef Gonzales, Benedict Janda, Charles Janda, Jian Jose, Christian Leyno, Jhed Lucero, Trump Luistro, Joaquin Mirasol, Chaun Nacaytuna, Merrel Neri, Alex Ogay, Rey Ogay, Aaron Ragasa, John Salinel, Remogenes Sobretodo, Henrico Soriano, Gregory Sumile, Raine Tumulac and Miguel Valles.

PSL chairman and former Sen. Nikki Coseteng serves as delegation head in the event.
