Kerwin Espinosa pleads not guilty to murder raps

SELF-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa pleaded not guilty for the murder charges filed against him before a Manila court early Friday.

In an arraignment at the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 40, Espinosa entered a not guilty plea for the killing of an Albuera, Leyte barangay chairman in May 31, 2006.

Co-respondents Max Miro and Stephen Bobares were also charged for allegedly conspiring with Espinosa in carrying out the crime.

Meanwhile, the court scheduled Espinosa’s next hearing on November 13. Presiding Judge Alfredo Ampuan hopes to wrap up the case in April 2019.

Espinosa is also facing other charges for possession of illegal drugs, explosives and ammunition. He is also charged for allegedly conspiring with other suspects in distributing crystal meth (shabu) in the Visayas region. KIM MALAIT
