PNP command group to have new heads starting Sept. 1

Effective September 1, certain offices of the Philippine National Police (PNP) will have new heads.

The reorganization in the PNP’s command group was due to the retirement of Deputy Director General Ramon Apolinario, Deputy Chief for Administration, according to a PNP statement issued Friday.

Deputy Director General Fernando Mendez Jr. will replace Apolinario as Deputy Chief for Administration; Deputy Director General Archie Francisco Gamboa will be Deputy Chief for Operations; Director Camilo Pancratios Cascolan will be the Acting Chief of the Directorial Staff; Chief Supt. Reynaldo Biay will be the Acting Director of the Civil Security Group; and Chief Supt. Mariel Magaway will be the Deputy Director for Intelligence.

The PNP said the police officials were chosen “based on their seniority, competence, and service reputation.”

Moreover, the PNP statement said, PNP Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde approved the new assignments based on recommendations from members of the Senior Officers Placement and Promotion Board. /kga
