Luzon to experience light to moderate rains as Maymay leaves

Despite Typhoon Maymay’s (Jebi) exit from the Philippine area of responsibility late Sunday night, it will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon over parts of Luzon.

Scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains are seen over Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol region and Zamboanga Peninsula, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Monday.

Residents in these areas, especially those living near river channels, in low-lying areas and in mountainous areas, were warned to take appropriate actions against possible flooding and landslides, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and to continue monitoring for updates.

Maymay slightly weakened and was last spotted 1,346 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes.
