DPWH to conduct repairs in Edsa, C-5 over the weekend

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has advised motorists to take alternate routes as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be conducting repair and reblocking of some portions of Edsa and the C-5 Road over the weekend.

Also scheduled to be repaired by the DPWH over the weekend are some roads in Manila and Quezon City.

According to the MMDA, the DPWH will begin road blocking and repairs from 11 p.m. on Friday, September 21 until Monday, September 24, the MMDA said in an advisory.

MMDA said affected routes will be fully passable by 5 a.m. on Monday.

The following Southbound lanes will be affected by the repairs:

C-5 Road before Tiendesitas approach of C-5 Ortigas Flyover

C-5 Road (Gap 3) Chainage 52 – Chainage 420 (First lane)

Edsa in front of Francesca Tower to after Sct. Borromeo (Third lane from the center island)

Northbound lanes to be affected by the repairs are:

Edsa beside Trinoma Mall (Sixth lane from center island)

A.H Lacson Avenue corner of Aragon Street, and corner of P. Florentino Street

Batasan Road before Everlasting and in front of QCPU (Second lane)

C-5 Road before MRT Avenue (Third lane)

Meanwhile, the Manila Water Co. Inc. will be doing pavement restoration in some parts of the C-5 road. During the repair, one lane will be closed from 10 p.m. on Friday to 4 a.m. on  Monday,  and again from 10 p.m. of September 28 to 4 a.m. of October 1.

The affected portions of C-5 Road (southbound) include:

After Lanuza Ave. (Landmark: opposite of Shell Gas Station)

After Lanuza Ave. (Landmark: Pedestrian over after Shell Gas Station).  /muf
