‘Paeng’ continues to weaken heading out of PH–Pagasa
TYPHOON “Paeng” (international name: Trami) continues to weaken as it moves northwest, heading out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state-run weather bureau said on Friday.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), said the typhoon was last spotted 695 kilometers (km) east of Basco Batanes, packing maximum winds of up to 160 kilometers per hour (kph), and gustiness of up to 195 kph.
Paeng will have no direct effect over the country, but isolated rain showers because of localized thunderstorms will prevail over parts of Luzon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will be experienced in Bicol region, Oriental Mindoro, Northern Samar, Romblon, Marinduque, and the rest of Metro Manila.
Portions of Albay, Legazpi City, Daraga, Camalig, and Masbate may experience moderate to heavy rains with strong winds in the morning.
Meanwhile, the low pressure area (LPA) being monitored outside the Philippine territory may develop into a typhoon, and enter the PAR on Tuesday.
As of 3 a.m. Friday, the LPA was seen 2,915 km east of Mindanao.
