St. Luke’s Med Center launches student awards

St. Luke’s Medical Center is inviting all third to fifth year college students nationwide to join its first Innovations Designed for Excellence and Advancement (IDEA) Student Innovation Awards.

St. Luke’s Medical Center is recognized to be the leading and most respected healthcare institution in the Philippines, with its two facilities in Quezon City and Global City at par with the most advanced hospitals around the world.

The St. Luke’s Student Innovation Awards aims to recognize young, bright ideas, and to uncover new ways in delivering quality healthcare, as the medical institution pillars itself on social responsibility and innovation, and is committed to the discovery of unique concepts that will be of valuable service to the rest of the community.

This initiative is endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education, in accordance with the Higher Education Act of 1994, which ensures the advancement of learning and research.

Students are encouraged to submit their entries, either as individuals or as a group, with the theme, “A Safer, Sustainable, and Connected World.” Entries can be any inventive, original development in medical or technological advancement geared towards creating healthcare solutions.

The winners will be chosen by a panel of subject matter specialists and selected experts through rigorous assessment on each submission’s novelty, robustness, impact, adaptability, and clarity. These students will be awarded during the St. Luke’s Student Congress in November this year, and will receive cash and special prizes.

To join, students must download the contest application form from the official website of St. Luke’s Medical Center, and submit a five-page project proposal, along with the YouTube link to a 60-second video presentation on or before October 21, 2018.
