LOOK: Truck sinks as pavement collapses in QC

The rear half of a 22-wheeler truck sank into a drainage after a portion beside a newly paved road collapsed in Quezon City on Saturday morning, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

MMDA Spokesperson Celine Pialago said that the incident occurred in N.S Amoranto on Banawe corner Retiro Streets, Quezon City minutes before 9 a.m.

Pialago also said the truck is loaded with sand that is set to be delivered to Cavite when the incident happened.

The driver of the 22-wheeler truck was unscathed in the incident and authorities said no other people were injured. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident. /jpv
