LIVE: JBC interviews candidates for SC associate justice
MANILA, Philippines–The Judicial and Bar Coucil (JBC) interviews candidates for the Supreme Court associate justice post that will become vacant when Justice Noel Tijam retires in January 2019.
Set to be interviewed Wednesday are Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje–Tang, Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Efren Dela Cruz and Court of Appeals justices Eduardo Peralta Jr., Ramon Cruz, Ricardo Rosario and Ramon Bato Jr.
The JBC is constitutionally mandated to vet aspirants to the judiciary and top Ombudsman positions. It will come up with a shortlist which will be sent to the President for final decision.
