Former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. was finally released from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center Friday night after being detained for four years for alleged plunder.

Revilla was accompanied by his family when he walked out of his detention center.

He thanked everyone who supported and believed in him.

“I must be dreaming. Once I got out, I asked myself ‘Is this real?’ I was detained for four years six months and was put to trial for a year so I lost five years of my life,” Revilla said in Filipino.

The former senator was acquitted of plunder by the Sandiganbayan.

On the other hand, Revilla’s aide Richard Cambe and Janet Lim-Napoles were found guilty and were sentenced to imprisonment up to 40 years. ROY D.R. NARRA
