3 Abu Sayyaf, 1 Marine killed in clash in Sulu

MANILA, Philippines — Three Abu Sayyaf terrorists and one Marine were killed in an encounter in Patikul, Sulu province on Thursday.
In a report from dzMM, the Marines were on a patrol in Minis Island in Patikul, Sulu when they clashed with the Abu Sayyaf bandits.
Two other Marines and an undetermined number of Abu Sayyaf bandits were also reportedly injured in the encounter.
Recovered from the scene of the encounter were two M14 rifles used by the Abu Sayyaf bandits, the report said.

Meanwhile, the military launched a ’hot pursuit’ operation against the Abu Sayyaf bandits who fled during the encounter, the report said. /muf
