Woman nabbed for shoplifting chocolates, toiletries

MANILA, Philippines — Police nabbed a 24-year-old woman for allegedly shoplifting imported chocolates and toiletries from a supermarket in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday.
Police identified the suspect as Michelle Valdez, who allegedly failed to show receipts for the 11 pieces of chocolates and several pieces of whitening soap, shampoo, hair treatment, and deodorant found on her.
According to police, the items taken from Valdez are worth P5,892.
Valdez is now detained at the Mandaluyong City Police Station as a case of theft is being readied against her before the Office of the City Prosecutor. /muf
