Cotabato City and Daraga, Albay placed under Comelec control

MANILA, Philippines — Cotabato City and Daraga, Albay were placed on Tuesday under the control of the Commission on
Elections (Comelec) until the end of election period.
Under Comelec Resolution 10480, the poll body placed Cotaboto City under its control for the plebiscite for the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law and also as a result of a deadly bomb blast in the city last year.
Meanwhile, Daraga, Albay was likewise placed under Comelec control for the 2019 midterm elections on May 13, as stated under Comelec Resolution 10479 following the killing of mayoralty candidate and Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Rodel Batocabe late last year.
Comelec will have full control of police and military units in areas placed under its control / gsg
