Man dead in Quezon highway mishap

LUCENA CITY—A 67-year-old pedestrian was killed after being hit by a speeding van along the Maharlika Highway in Pagbilao, Quezon Sunday night, police said.
A report from the Quezon police headquarters, said Gaudencio Merle, was bumped by a Toyota Hi-Ace Commuter van being driven by Jeorge Sabangan while crossing the road in Barangay Ibabang Palsabangon around 6:30 p.m.
The victim, a resident of the said place, suffered body and head injuries and died on the spot.
Police said the vehicle was registered to Technology Export Services Corp. in Carmona, Cavite.
