REIGNING world welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao on Thursday arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from the US where he defended his title against American Adrien Broner.

Pacquiao, along with his wife Jinkee and son Israel, arrived on board a Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight from Los Angeles, California.

The 8-division champion had complained of pain and vision loss in his left eye, which he suffered during his fight with Broner at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“It was only a scratch and it’s already healed,” Pacquiao said during a press briefing shortly after his arrival.

Pacquiao retained his welterweight title via a unanimous decision over Broner, who thought he won the fight despite the Philippine boxer’s dominant performance.

He kidded that he would soon return to his Senate job, or do exercise despite the long trip back to Manila. “Kahit bukas pwede na akong mag–exercise.” (I can start exercising even tomorrow.)

Asked about the recent burglary in his Los Angeles home, Pacquiao said that the LAPD was gathering information and taking inventory of what had been stolen.

“Walang nakawan, ilang gamit lang nawala, sapatos at ilang damit. Mga hindi importante (the burglars found nothing except that they took some of our clothes and shoes which are not important), ” Pacquiao told reporters.
