MANILA, Philippines — With the enhanced mobile application of the Social Security System (SSS), its members can now generate their payment reference number (PRN) online to pay for their monthly contribution.

In a statement on Sunday, the SSS noted that self-employed, voluntary, overseas Filipino workers and non-working spouses members could download the agency’s mobile app and log in with their My.SSS account’s user ID and password and immediately get their PRN and pay for their monthly contribution.

“There are reports that some of our members are having difficulties in obtaining their PRNs, so we included PRN generation as one of the important features of the new version of the SSS Mobile App to provide convenience among SSS members who pay their contributions regularly,” Emmanuel Dooc, SSS President and Chief Executive Officer, said.

If a member does not have an account yet, they can quickly register using the app itself.

Once signed in, members can click the “Generate PRN/SOA” icon in the home screen of the app to get their PRN.

“They can also view, download and edit their Statement of Account (SOA), particularly the amount of contribution payment and applicable paying period,” Dooc said.

Aside from being able to generate their PRN, the members can also use the updated app to apply for a salary loan and submit their maternity notification.

In applying for a salary loan, members can click on the “My Loans” icon on the app’s home screen where they can view and edit the loanable amount.

However, members must first agree with the terms of service before they can proceed with viewing the loan disclosure statement and submit their application for a salary loan.

For the submission of maternity notification, female members can tap the “Maternity Notification” icon and provide their expected date of delivery and number of pregnancies or miscarriages.

The mobile app also shows a more detailed information including the breakdown of a member’s contribution payments, membership information such as Common Reference Number (CRN) Social Security (SS) number, name, date of birth, contact information, date of coverage, coverage and SS number status, and Unified Multipurpose Identification (UMID) savings account number.

“With the latest mobile app version, members can also update their contact information such as landline, mobile number, email address, as well as the local mailing and foreign addresses,” Dooc said.

Dooc also noted that the said app would send an automatic email confirmation to the registered email address of a member with the corresponding transaction number for every successful updating of membership information and submission of salary loan application and maternity notification.

Members, the agency said, could also use the SSS branch locator in the app where they could search for branches and a location map and navigator which could help them find a particular branch.

“With mobile data or Wi-Fi connection, our members can use the SSS mobile application anytime, anywhere.  However, please note that data charges may apply depending on their internet service provider or data usage,” Dooc said.

Members can download the app through the Google Playstore or the App Store while those who already have the app will only need to update it to get the latest version.
