ADB commits support to PH in pursuit of peace in Mindanao

THE Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Tuesday committed to support the Philippine government in pursuing peace in Mindanao after twin explosions in Jolo, Sulu killed at least 20 people and injured about 100 others over the weekend
In a statement, ADB Vice-President Stephen Groff also extended the bank’s “deepest sympathies to the people of Jolo, Sulu and to the families of the victims.”
“ADB stands ready to support the Government of the Philippines in the peace process and provide assistance as needed,” Groff said.
The World Bank, on Monday, also offered aid in the wake of the tragedy at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral on Sunday. ANNA LEAH E. GONZALES
